Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2000 Christies in London held the auction 19th and 20th Century Photographs, which included the work Portrait of Alberto Giacometti, 1963, printed later by Henri Cartier-Bresson. The price achieved of GBP 1,116.25 (€ 1,907.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 900.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Cartier-Bresson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work On the Banks of the Marne, France in April 2017 with an auction result of USD 212,500.00 (€ 195,043.60).
