The work Aristide Bruant Bruant au Mirliton (D. 349; W. P10; Adr. 57) by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec was sold in the Important Belle Époque Prints: The Guardsmark Collection auction at Christies in New York in May 2007. The »bidding war« ended at USD 16,800.00 (€ 12,487.92), 40% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Blanchisseuse in November 2005 with an auction result of USD 22,416,000.00 (€ 19,012,722.65).
