Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Elegant company at Versailles by Henri Pierre Picou was auctioned at Bonhams in January this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,878.80). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Pierre Picou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Birth of Venus in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 76,799.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Elegant company at Versailles von Henri Pierre Picou im Januar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.878,80) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henri Pierre Picou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Birth of Venus im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 76.799,88).
