Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mathematical Form: Surface 0012 (Diagonal Clebsch surface, cubic with 27 lines), 2004 by Hiroshi Sugimoto was sold in the Photographies & Lothar Schirmer's Glamour Collection auction at Christies in Sydney in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 8,820.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
