This artwork by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Sydney in November this year. In the Photographies & Lothar Schirmer's Glamour Collection auction, the work Paramount, Oakland, 1994 sold for EUR 32,760.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hiroshi Sugimoto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Sea, Ozuluce; Yellow Sea, Cheju; Red Sea, Safaga in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 1,888,000.00 (€ 1,403,404.45).
