Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Horacio Rentería Rocha could be acquired at Christies in New York in May 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Latin American Art Online auction, the work Portrait of María Rocha Galarza Holding Her Doll changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,924.12) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Horacio Rentería Rocha have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Two Portraits (Boy in Uniform and Girl with Flowers) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 32,133.68).
