In October 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work ‘Barefoot Beauty’, New York, 1941 by Horst P. Horst. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,820.00 (€ 9,793.86), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Horst P. Horst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mainbocher Corset, Paris, 1939 in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 288,000.00 (€ 210,834.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit ‘Barefoot Beauty’, New York, 1941 von Horst P. Horst zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.820,00 (€ 9.793,86) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Horst P. Horst erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mainbocher Corset, Paris, 1939 im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 288.000,00 (€ 210.834,55).
