The work Calligraphy by Huang Jie was worth USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,925.90) to a buyer in March 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 2,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Huang Jie; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Poem In Kaishu sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 21,905.00).
