He Man’an, born in Panyu, Guangdong Province, was an important collector of Chinese paintings and calligraphy in the region of Lingnan. The name of his studio was Lingbi Shanfang and he was especially fond of collecting works by artists in the Lingnan region.

This artwork by Huang Jie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script sold for HKD 22,500.00 (€ 2,539.52) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Huang Jie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poem In Kaishu in October 2015 with an auction result of HKD 187,500.00 (€ 21,905.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Huang Jie erzielte im November 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Running Script für HKD 22.500,00 (€ 2.539,52) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Huang Jie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poem In Kaishu im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 187.500,00 (€ 21.905,00).
