Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work „Espace circulaire et volume“. by Hugo Demarco was auctioned at Grisebach in May 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hugo Demarco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Relief À Deplacement Continuelle in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 67,000.00 (€ 43,059.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit „Espace circulaire et volume“. von Hugo Demarco im Mai 2021 bei Grisebach versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 3.750,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hugo Demarco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Relief À Deplacement Continuelle im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 67.000,00 (€ 43.059,13).
