A top price for Ibrahim Hussein - as previously expected
The work Unknown by Ibrahim Hussein was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. The price achieved of HKD 1,120,000.00 (€ 105,923.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 900,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Unknown is the most expensive artwork by Ibrahim Hussein that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Unknown von Ibrahim Hussein kam im Mai 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 1.120.000,00 (€ 105.923,75) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 900.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Unknown das teuerste Kunstwerk von Ibrahim Hussein, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
