Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life With A Wine Glass, Peeled Lemon, Bread Roll, Olives And Shrimps by Jacob van Es was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,193.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob van Es - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With A Fish On A Terracotta Plate, Bunches Of Asparagus, Artichokes And Cherries In A Scalloped Dish, Together With Half A Cheese In A Basket, Bread Rolls, Fraises De Bois, Lemons, Oranges And Crabs All Arranged On A Table Top, which sold at auction in July 2011 for GBP 91,250.00 (€ 104,723.03).
