Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Maison de Rawack, et bateaux de Rawack et Waigiou, and annotated proof engravings after Arago for plate 48, Atlas Historique; Naturels de Rawak; and five sheets of coastal profiles in the Papuan islands (Manouazan and Waigiou) by Jacques Etienne Victor Arago was sold in the THE FREYCINET COLLECTION auction at Christies in London in September 2002. The price achieved of GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,697.39) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Etienne Victor Arago achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nid d'Autour trouvé à L'Ile d'Irk=hatighs, 7bre 1818. in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 66,469.53).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Maison de Rawack, et bateaux de Rawack et Waigiou, and annotated proof engravings after Arago for plate 48, Atlas Historique; Naturels de Rawak; and five sheets of coastal profiles in the Papuan islands (Manouazan and Waigiou) von Jacques Etienne Victor Arago wurde im September 2002 in der Auktion THE FREYCINET COLLECTION bei Christies in London versteigert.
