The price achieved of GBP 3,824.00 (€ 6,077.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacques Etienne Victor Arago achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nid d'Autour trouvé à L'Ile d'Irk=hatighs, 7bre 1818. in September 2002 with an auction result of GBP 41,825.00 (€ 66,469.53).
