Nouvelle Hollande. (Ile de Dirck hartighs, Presqu'île Péron, Ile de Dore and Ile Bernier) sold for GBP 11,950.00 (€ 18,991.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacques Etienne Victor Arago - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nid d'Autour trouvé à L'Ile d'Irk=hatighs, 7bre 1818., which sold at auction in September 2002 for GBP 41,825.00 (€ 66,469.53).
