Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Les Grandes Pyramids, Egypt by Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,714.88). This price was achieved in the auction The Kagan Collection at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French the Sentinel in April 2017 with an auction result of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 163,283.62).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Les Grandes Pyramids, Egypt von Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ für USD 6.875,00 (€ 5.714,88) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The Kagan Collection bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit French the Sentinel im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 163.283,62).
