This artwork by Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. In the Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I auction, the work The Gust of Wind sold for EUR 94,500.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot French the Sentinel sold at auction in April 2017 with the realized price of GBP 137,500.00 (€ 163,283.62).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I wurde die Arbeit The Gust of Wind für EUR 94.500,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jean Lecomte du Nouÿ; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit French the Sentinel im April 2017 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 137.500,00 (€ 163.283,62).
