The work Figures Gathered Outside An Inn by Jean-Louis de Marne was sold in the Old Master Paintings and Drawings auction at Sothebys in Paris in June 2008. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,690.23), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jean-Louis de Marne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Travelling peasants with their cattle and sheep in a landscape; and Figures with animals outside an inn beside a wheat field in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 72,000.00 (€ 55,176.64).

Die Arbeit Figures Gathered Outside An Inn von Jean-Louis de Marne wurde im Juni 2008 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Drawings bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.690,23) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jean-Louis de Marne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Travelling peasants with their cattle and sheep in a landscape; and Figures with animals outside an inn beside a wheat field im Januar 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 72.000,00 (€ 55.176,64).
