Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2019 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Paysage avec arbre et maisons by Jean Metzinger. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 49,181.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean Metzinger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Cycliste in February 2020 with an auction result of GBP 3,015,000.00 (€ 3,494,391.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Paysage avec arbre et maisons von Jean Metzinger zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 49.181,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean Metzinger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le Cycliste im Februar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.015.000,00 (€ 3.494.391,84).
