Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Femme et fleurs by Jean-Pierre Cassigneul was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 27,500.00 (€ 23,611.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jean-Pierre Cassigneul achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dans La Roseraie in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 893,000.00 (€ 656,328.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Femme et fleurs von Jean-Pierre Cassigneul im Oktober 2020 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 27.500,00 (€ 23.611,23) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jean-Pierre Cassigneul erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dans La Roseraie im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 893.000,00 (€ 656.328,09).
