This artwork by Jeff Koons achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2000. In the CONTEMPORARY auction, the work Red Butt (Distance) sold for USD 369,000.00 (€ 424,430.64) - well above the upper estimate of USD 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jeff Koons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rabbit in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 91,075,000.00 (€ 81,688,940.71).
