Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Procession by Jehudo Epstein was sold in the British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures auction at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,603.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jehudo Epstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dying Job in January 2008 with an auction result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,107.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Procession von Jehudo Epstein wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.603,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jehudo Epstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dying Job im Januar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.107,14).
