Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tapestry, 1976 by Jerry Uelsmann was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in September 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,080.00 (€ 851.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jerry Uelsmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (floating trees) in April last year with an auction result of USD 17,640.00 (€ 16,741.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tapestry, 1976 von Jerry Uelsmann wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.080,00 (€ 851,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jerry Uelsmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (floating trees) im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.640,00 (€ 16.741,01).
