Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Vanessa, Montalivet, France, 1997 by Jock Sturges was auctioned at Christies in Paris in November 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,750.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jock Sturges achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fanny, Montalivet, 2001 in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 40,000.00 (€ 31,675.64).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Vanessa, Montalivet, France, 1997 von Jock Sturges im November 2017 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.750,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jock Sturges erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fanny, Montalivet, 2001 im September 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 31.675,64).
