Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Place du Marché-au-Blé et le Palais Ducal, Nevers by Johan Barthold Jongkind was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in New York in April 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 42,000.00 (€ 32,510.26) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Johan Barthold Jongkind have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sailing on a sunny day in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 144,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit La Place du Marché-au-Blé et le Palais Ducal, Nevers von Johan Barthold Jongkind wurde im April 2005 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 42.000,00 (€ 32.510,26) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
