Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mädchenkopf im Profil nach rechts. by Johann Anton Ramboux was auctioned at VAN HAM in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,800.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,584.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Anton Ramboux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Double Portrait of the Painter Konrad Eberhard and his Brother Franz in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 54,566.09).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mädchenkopf im Profil nach rechts. von Johann Anton Ramboux im Mai letzten Jahres bei VAN HAM versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.800,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.584,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Anton Ramboux erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Double Portrait of the Painter Konrad Eberhard and his Brother Franz im Januar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 54.566,09).
