In March 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work The Claddagh Fisherman Mending Nets by John Behan. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,500.00 (€ 9,617.71), 70% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Behan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Blackrock Bull, which sold at auction in May 2013 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,767.46).

Im März 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Irish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Claddagh Fisherman Mending Nets von John Behan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.500,00 (€ 9.617,71) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Behan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Blackrock Bull beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 27.767,46) versteigert wurde.
