Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Famine Ship by John Behan for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,344.67). This price was achieved in the auction British & Irish Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Behan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Blackrock Bull, which sold at auction in May 2013 for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 27,767.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Famine Ship von John Behan für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.344,67) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British & Irish Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Behan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Blackrock Bull beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für GBP 23.750,00 (€ 27.767,46) versteigert wurde.
