Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work H.M.S. Dryad Engaging The French Frigate Prosperine, 13Th June 1796 by John Bentham Dinsdale was sold in the Maritime Art auction at Christies in London in November 2013. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,309.26). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Bentham Dinsdale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'The Osprey and Egyptienne, 23rd March 1904', which sold at auction in May 2020 for GBP 8,187.00 (€ 9,088.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit H.M.S. Dryad Engaging The French Frigate Prosperine, 13Th June 1796 von John Bentham Dinsdale wurde im November 2013 in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.309,26) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Bentham Dinsdale mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'The Osprey and Egyptienne, 23rd March 1904' beobachtet, die im Mai 2020 für GBP 8.187,00 (€ 9.088,47) versteigert wurde.
