Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work 'The U.S. Clipper Ship, The Dreadnought' by John Bentham Dinsdale. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,432.00 (€ 2,792.61), 22% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Bentham Dinsdale - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'The Osprey and Egyptienne, 23rd March 1904', which sold at auction in May 2020 for GBP 8,187.00 (€ 9,088.47).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'The U.S. Clipper Ship, The Dreadnought' von John Bentham Dinsdale zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.432,00 (€ 2.792,61) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Bentham Dinsdale mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'The Osprey and Egyptienne, 23rd March 1904' beobachtet, die im Mai 2020 für GBP 8.187,00 (€ 9.088,47) versteigert wurde.
