Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Timaru, a colonial trader built in 1874; A ship in coastal waters, a pair (2) by John Bentham Dinsdale was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2020. It changed hands for a price of GBP 892.50 (€ 996.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 700.00 – 900.00. Admittedly, works by John Bentham Dinsdale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'The Osprey and Egyptienne, 23rd March 1904' in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 8,187.00 (€ 9,088.47).

Die Arbeit The Timaru, a colonial trader built in 1874; A ship in coastal waters, a pair (2) von John Bentham Dinsdale kam im November 2020 bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 892,50 (€ 996,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 700,00 – 900,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Bentham Dinsdale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'The Osprey and Egyptienne, 23rd March 1904' im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.187,00 (€ 9.088,47).
