Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2014 Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Sunflowers by John Bratby. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,827.49) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Bratby have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life With Oranges in June 2017 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,858.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunflowers von John Bratby zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.827,49) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Bratby auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life With Oranges im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.858,47).
