This artwork by John Duncan Fergusson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2017. In the Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work Portrait of Margaret Morris sold for GBP 87,500.00 (€ 99,646.17) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Duncan Fergusson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Submarines and Camouflaged Battleship in March this year with an auction result of GBP 1,074,000.00 (€ 1,221,882.45).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Duncan Fergusson erzielte im Juni 2017 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Portrait of Margaret Morris für GBP 87.500,00 (€ 99.646,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Duncan Fergusson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Submarines and Camouflaged Battleship im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.074.000,00 (€ 1.221.882,45).
