Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work P.T : W ? - 1991 by John Franklin Koenig was auctioned at Artcurial in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 650.00. Admittedly, works by John Franklin Koenig have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ucello Bernardino - 1957 in April 2015 with an auction result of EUR 6,240.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit P.T : W ? - 1991 von John Franklin Koenig im Oktober 2015 bei Artcurial versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 650,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Franklin Koenig auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ucello Bernardino - 1957 im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 6.240,00.
