The work Portrait of Captain James Cook, R.N., small half length, in captain's full-dress uniform by John Webber was sold in the Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection auction at Christies in London in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 130,491.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Webber have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2017 the work A View In Nootka Sound was auctioned for GBP 224,750.00 (€ 252,923.20).
