The work Study for Homage to the Square "Friendly Sky" by Josef Albers was sold in the POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART Paris, Evening Sale (Including CONSORTIUM: 40 YEARS) auction at Christies in Paris in June 2018. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 415,500.00 39% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Josef Albers have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Homage to the Square in May this year with an auction result of USD 2,954,000.00 (€ 2,772,667.54).

Die Arbeit Study for Homage to the Square "Friendly Sky" von Josef Albers wurde im Juni 2018 in der Auktion POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART Paris, Evening Sale (Including CONSORTIUM: 40 YEARS) bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 415.500,00 und damit 39% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Josef Albers auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Homage to the Square im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.954.000,00 (€ 2.772.667,54).
