In April 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work A calf and sheep in a landscape by Joseph Horlor. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,126.17) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Joseph Horlor - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hauling in the nets (illustrated); and Fishermen on the coast, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,002.00).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit A calf and sheep in a landscape von Joseph Horlor zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.126,17) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Joseph Horlor mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Hauling in the nets (illustrated); and Fishermen on the coast beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 2.040,00 (€ 3.002,00) versteigert wurde.
