Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Joseph Horlor could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Low tide, Devon changed hands for GBP 437.50 (€ 555.85) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Joseph Horlor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hauling in the nets (illustrated); and Fishermen on the coast in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 2,040.00 (€ 3,002.00).
