In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Alfred Stieglitz, Georgia O’Keeffe, Juan Hamilton: Passage, which included the work Azushi Blue Iii by Juan Hamilton. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,067.01) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Juan Hamilton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Red Form) in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 45,000.00 (€ 40,801.52).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Alfred Stieglitz, Georgia O’Keeffe, Juan Hamilton: Passage durch, in der auch die Arbeit Azushi Blue Iii von Juan Hamilton zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 9.067,01) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Juan Hamilton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Red Form) im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 45.000,00 (€ 40.801,52).
