Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kate Greenaway could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work An illustration for the Almanack, July, 1887 changed hands for GBP 375.00 (€ 450.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kate Greenaway achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,449.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kate Greenaway konnte im Juli 2010 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit An illustration for the Almanack, July, 1887 für GBP 375,00 (€ 450,90) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kate Greenaway erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.365,00 (€ 12.449,63).
