In December 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL DRAWINGS AND WATERCOLOURS AND ILLUST, which included the work A young girl carrying a bouquet by Kate Greenaway. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,292.50 (€ 2,111.77), 62% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kate Greenaway have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,449.63).

Im Dezember 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL DRAWINGS AND WATERCOLOURS AND ILLUST durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young girl carrying a bouquet von Kate Greenaway zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.292,50 (€ 2.111,77) und damit 62% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kate Greenaway auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.365,00 (€ 12.449,63).
