The work Virus Summer by Katherine Bernhardt was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in March this year. It achieved a price of HKD 1,143,000.00 (€ 133,833.61), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 27%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Katherine Bernhardt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 373,972.60).

Die Arbeit Virus Summer von Katherine Bernhardt wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 1.143.000,00 (€ 133.833,61) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 27%. Für andere Arbeiten von Katherine Bernhardt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 373.972,60) versteigert wurde.
