Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Full Length Portrait Of An Actor In A Dramatic Pose by Katsukawa Shunei was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,839.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsukawa Shunei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Sumo Wrestlers in May 2019 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,394.03).

Die Arbeit A Full Length Portrait Of An Actor In A Dramatic Pose von Katsukawa Shunei kam im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.839,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katsukawa Shunei erzielen.
