A top price for Katsukawa Shunei
In May 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Fine Japanese Art, which included the work Two Sumo Wrestlers by Katsukawa Shunei. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,394.03), 35% above the upper estimate. With this result, Two Sumo Wrestlers is even the most expensive work of art by Katsukawa Shunei that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Fine Japanese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Sumo Wrestlers von Katsukawa Shunei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.394,03) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Two Sumo Wrestlers sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Katsukawa Shunei, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
