Auction result well in line with expectations
The work HOT SEAT JUNCTION by Kaws was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in December this year. The price achieved of HKD 8,599,000 (€ 1,321,189) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been given by the auction house as HKD 7,000,000 - 10,000,000. Admittedly, works by Kaws have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000 (€ 6,615,255).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit HOT SEAT JUNCTION von Kaws wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in association with Yongle bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 8.599.000 (€ 1.321.189) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 7.000.000 – 10.000.000 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kaws auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000 (€ 6.615.255).
