Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work UNTITLED by Kaws for HKD 419,100.00 (€ 50,233.78). This price was achieved in the auction Disruptors: Evening Sale of 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Design and Watches at Phillips in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kaws achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Kimpsons #1) in October 2019 with an auction result of HKD 57,877,000.00 (€ 6,615,255.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit UNTITLED von Kaws für HKD 419.100,00 (€ 50.233,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Disruptors: Evening Sale of 20th Century & Contemporary Art, Design and Watches bei Phillips in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kaws erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Kimpsons #1) im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.877.000,00 (€ 6.615.255,49).
