Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2017 Christies in London held the auction Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale, which included the work Standing Figure by Kenneth Armitage. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 93,750.00 (€ 106,420.20), 17% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenneth Armitage - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Striding Figures (Version 2), which sold at auction in June 2018 for GBP 218,750.00 (€ 247,224.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Standing Figure von Kenneth Armitage zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 93.750,00 (€ 106.420,20) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Armitage mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Striding Figures (Version 2) beobachtet, die im Juni 2018 für GBP 218.750,00 (€ 247.224,78) versteigert wurde.
