A top price for Kim Chan-Il - as previously expected
The work Dots by Kim Chan-Il was sold in the First Open | Shanghai auction at Christies in Shanghai in September 2017. It changed hands for a price of CNY 180,000.00 (€ 22,901.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of CNY 100,000.00 – 200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Dots is the most expensive artwork by Kim Chan-Il that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Dots von Kim Chan-Il wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion First Open | Shanghai bei Christies in Shanghai versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von CNY 180.000,00 (€ 22.901,89) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von CNY 100.000,00 – 200.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Dots das teuerste Kunstwerk von Kim Chan-Il, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
