Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Line by Kim Chan-Il was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in May 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 120,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 13,656.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Kim Chan-Il have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2017 the work Dots was auctioned for CNY 180,000.00 (€ 22,901.89).

Die Arbeit Line von Kim Chan-Il wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 13.656,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Kim Chan-Il konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2017 die Arbeit Dots für CNY 180.000,00 (€ 22.901,89) versteigert.
