Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2009 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Grace Kelly VS Clark Gable by Kim Dong-Yoo. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 1,220,000.00 (€ 111,411.58). Admittedly, works by Kim Dong-Yoo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mao Vs. Monroe in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 345,300.00 (€ 451,638.85).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2009 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grace Kelly VS Clark Gable von Kim Dong-Yoo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 1.220.000,00 (€ 111.411,58) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kim Dong-Yoo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mao Vs. Monroe im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 345.300,00 (€ 451.638,85).
